Hybrid Varieties currently available from Germinal Seeds include

Aberecho- A very high yielding tetraploid variety which heads around mid May. Has a very high sugar content.

Aberexcel- Also a tetraploid variety it has very high annual yields and equalled yields of tetraploid Italian ryegrass in trial over 2 years. It also has good digestibility, is persistent and has good disease resistance.

Aberlinnet- This variety while high yielding also gives high silage yields and excellent mid season digestibility. It also has very good ground cover.

Other hybrid varieties available are Aberstorm and Aberoscar and a variety called Foyle, which is bred in the North of Ireland. This variety possesses characteristics very like the perennial parent and so has excellent ground cover. Very suitable for a grazing/cutting system but would lend itself very well to continuous grazing also.
